No Mayday?

The captain was so busy evacuating himself the ship couldn't get off a mayday? What kind of a captain is he?

The supersized cruise ships seem like a bad idea in the post 9/11 era. Plus, they don't much look like real ships. I guess it's only a matter of time before disasters happen.

What do you do with a drunken sailor erlye in the morning?

1. Make him the captain of an Exxon tanker.
2. Make him the captain of a Costa cruiser.

It would suck to be that captain. Running aground does not impress the chicks. Back when I was a boat captain, I ran aground one time. It totally sucked. I was right across from the dock. All my friends could see me. My wife was mad. Every time I pulled up the centerboard, the wind pushed us further onto the lee shore. Eventually, I had to jump into the Potomac, wade through nasty stinky mud with the anchor line, and pull the boat out into deeper water. Washing the boat was pain in the arse. I smelled bad for the ride home. I had trouble getting my wife interested in going sailing again. No fun!
