Photos For Ads Question

What is the simplest method for downloading photos for an ad? I believe there is a limit for the size of a photo. When I take a photo each one is about 2.5 to 3 megs. Should I simply set my camera to the lowest resolution for ad photos.

What I am having to do now is download the photos, then send to an e-mail recipient/me(which automatically lowers the resolution of the photos in the e-mail). I then DOWNLOAD ALL and SAVE AS. Then I SAVE AS TYPE-All files-Save.

The files are saved as a zip file, which when opened, shows the photos listed as JPEG images. I then follow the normal procedure for placing the photos in an ad.

My procedure seems convoluted(probably an understatement) to me, but I so seldom place ads that this is the only way I know.

Any assistance on this will be greatly appreciated. smile

Hi, Darian.

I have a "default" mode, when I take photos for ads. I simply set the camera's resolution to "VGA" (640 x 480). Thereafter, uploading/inserting to ads is fairly straightforward and "oops" free.

Best wishes.

Hi Darian,
What I do is take the photo at hi resolution. Then use photo editing software to first crop out anything unwanted. That in itself reduces the size of the file. I'll then check the size in bytes. Then if needed, reduce it further by resizing it. I try to keep them around 100kb or so.
