Anybody vicariously vacation using the satellite view on google maps?
So far, I've been hunting battleships and cool fortresses.

Anybody have good ideas on places to check out? I've also had fun checking out Area 51, Aircraft Boneyards in Arizona, old Nike Missile Sites around DC, and volcanoes in Hawaii. You don't have to pay an extra $20 to check a bag for these trips.

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

I guess this means no more seeking battle ships as the plot to movies like "Sink The Bismark!" Or even "The African Queen".

Russian subs are fun. The ones in port are easy; some folks
have spotted them underway on the open ocean. Other cold-war
remnants like SAC alert bases are good. DEWline sites up in
Canada are another -- virtual cities in the arctic north
-- imagine the enormous resources it took to build that stuff.
