The Dog From Beyond?

One night, two years ago, we drive by our old apartment complex in Kennesaw and a Civil War site called Brushy Mountain. I remark how our departed dog, Travis, always wanted to climb to the top of the mountain even though he had a lot of trouble since he only had three legs. Suddenly, a coyote comes out of the woods and saunters across the road in front of us. Then he stops, makes deliberate eye contact with us and trots off into the woods.

Last night, we drive by a hotel near our apartment complex and we talk about how we lived there for a couple of weeks during a relocation. I point and say, "Yeah, I remember how Travis really liked to walk around on that hill." Suddenly, a beautiful coyote comes out of the woods and saunters across the road in front of us. Then he stops, makes deliberate eye contact with us and trots off into the woods.

Note that these are the only times that we've seen live coyotes since 2001. Pretty weird, huh? 8O If it happens again, I'm gonna have to let the religion forum know that they got dyslexia. wink

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

Probably nothing more remarkable than hungry coyotes sizing up the "food or foe" probability when presented with a pack of two-leggeds. Coyotes are gradually becoming less shy of people and discovering the food potential in the middens left behind by humans, which is why they are seen more often in populated areas these days.

Now if that had been a three-legged coyote, that would have given me paws, er...pause. wink

Sweet the coming on
Of grateful evening mild; then silent night
With this her solemn bird and this fair moon,
And these the gems of heaven, her starry train.
