The new attitude on the forums

For a while I hadn't been participating on the forums. They were way out of hand with arguements and flames. For the last few weeks (especially in the off-topic and equipment forums) the attitudes have cleaned up. I'm happy to be participating in them again!

Anyone else feel this way?

(P.S. For some reason this posted in the Equip forum... so I moved it)

To be honest, I typically find myself completely "out of the loop" when it comes to most arguments which occur across the forums. As an example, I was oblivious to the recent exchanges which Herb had likened to S.A.A. If Herb hadn't spoken up, I'd never have known the thread had degraded as such.

Once I feel a thread is "done," or if it digresses or sinks into dead-horse-beaten territory, I simply move on. Only rarely do I return to "see what's new" (since, typically, there *isn't* anything new).

This "change the channel" approach seems to help filter things quite nicely for me.

Best wishes.

Same here Dan. For the last 3 months or so, I didn't even bother reading most threads. I'd look to see if there were any questions I could help with, or interesting threads. Other than that, I just didn't even read them.

The last couple of weeks though, the equipment forums have been ABOUT equipment! Kinda nice smile
