Sweet the coming on
Of grateful evening mild; then silent night
With this her solemn bird and this fair moon,
And these the gems of heaven, her starry train.

The plate on my truck is HOO 666. The lady at the DMV asked if I would accept them before she finalized the paperwork. She says some people return plates mailed to them if they have that number. I said sure, I'd take them. I figured, "What the hell!!!"

Wow, you were lucky to notice those numbers! Now we know why the birds are falling. The other day I noticed when my odometer was at 100001. So, now I have to drive another 99,999 miles for all the zeroes to line up. :S

"Ten year old discovers supernova" gets one comment.

"Odometer of the Beast" gets seven.

Where are we headed? I mean, we are the astronomy lovers......

As a computer programmer, I have more than once been asked to make sure that 666 never appeared in an ID number. One place I worked had a rule - seriously - that no one could run any "on-request" jobs on Halloween I think something "bad" happend once. If you put every date that something "bad" happened in an IT shop off limits, then... This is 21st Century America? Of course I have known a number of programmers who I am sure "prayed" that their programs would work. From what I observed, they didn't seem to get much help.
