Jim, don't bother to post trash from websites like redstate.com. They make their money posting whatever twisted stories that they can come up with for the crippled minds that want to believe that unverified trash.

(Sigh) another typical e-rumor. Some of the few more 'respectable' websites carrying the story have presented a retraction at this point since Ma'ariv spokesman is apparently flatly refuting any of this. Basically it's a rumor that no one will (or can) corroborate.

But the wingnut blog mills don't dwell on facts, they prefer to make up their own. Of course, in the meantime they also need to find a motive for why Obama himself would 'leak' a story that essentially was just ammunition for his opponents to generate chatter with in the first place? Seems to be going out of your way just to get ridiculed.

The newspaper which printed Barack Obama's prayer was taking so much flack that it tried to spread some lies about Barack Obama. Reputable sources check their sources as do reputable posters.

"I finally heard back from the Ma'ariv spokesman, who denied that the Obama campaign leaked the memo to them or gave them approval to print it, and who disavowed the alleged spokesman who gave quotes to at least four Israeli publications. At the risk of beating a dead horse, I'll be following up with those publications to find out where they got those quotes from. I just spoke with an editor at one of those publications who broached the possibility that Ma'ariv was trying to deflect criticims of it by releasing these spurious rumors about the Obama campaign, but upon realizing that they'll have to back up those accusations, is now disavowing them. I'll update here if I get anything interesting from those publications."

Can you give me a link to the place on redstate.com where they retracted their claim that Barack Obama leaked his prayer to the press? I tried, but I couldn't find one.
