I would be fine with Beshear. He's a whole lot smarter than the self proclaimed stable genius who has trouble stringing three sentences together without losing his train of thought. While I don't think a president should be handled I agree with Jim B. and sure glad he is. At least this time.

Agreed, but no one, not even the most die hard democrat ever born can say with a straight face that Biden did not need to be handled. So, I’m not sure if we should not all look in the mirror and ponder why the heck we keep electing candidates with fire in the belly, but little or no competence?

You lost me at “most say”.  I reckon I’m an arrogant prick for saying this, but most of the citizens of the United States who even think about the Supreme Court at all view them as partisan hacks. What choice do they have given the nature of our hyper-partisan news reporting?   Seriously, readers of the left wing press think Alito is Satan, and readers of the right wing press think Sotomayor is Beelzebub.   They are both wrong, but I know I’m beating a dead horse.

My guess is that about 0.1% of the population has ever read a Supreme Court opinion or has ever thought about the subtleties and nuances that go into the Court’s decisions. So it goes.

I hope you’re right. I would prefer Shapiro, but I don’t think that’s plausible given the current state of affairs.

Democrats got very practical in 2020 in the face of another Trump term when they opted for Joe Biden. Maybe they will see clearly in 28 again. We can only hope. The other hope is that sanity returns to the GOP in 28, but that looks like a real long shot today.
