I have recently purchased a DSI from Meade. While trying to image Jupiter, I get white out in the middle. I have tried to use the shortest exposure and stack images - result ends the same. Anyone with more experience please help. I have imaged with a planetary ccd and film, but am new to this DSI.
8O Thanks,David

David, I would recommend to you to become a member of the following group, which is dedicated to the DSI and all that's related to it:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Deep-Sky-Imager

I personally had one of them, and enjoyed using it for a bit, but found it somewhat difficult & not consistent for planetary work. The results were never as good as what you would get with a Vesta Pro or a Toucam Pro II webcam...
The DSI is a good entry level DSO Imager, but believe me when I say that I much rather use my $75 webcam for the Planets...

I'm in no way putting down the DSI, as I believe it is a good way to get acquainted with all that is part of CCD DSO Imaging... and has allowed people to do it with little investment, which I think it is great...

Clear skies, and good luck! 8)
