DSO cameras?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a comparison between the various DSO camera's like SBIG, Starlight, Atik, etc? What I'm looking for, if it exists, is how the various $2000 - $4000 cameras compare, strengths and weaknesses, etc. Just curious....

Thanks!!

It's just like anything else Paul. You look for features that you like. I can't say one camera is better than the other because they all have pros and cons. Some people like SBIGS on board guide chip and some like SXV low noise features and some prefer Triffids -50 degree cooling. Find a camera that matches your budget, scope and sky conditions and you'll enjoy it. I promise!

hi,

Check out this ad http://www.astromart.com/classifieds/details.asp?classified_id=459957.

It's not mine but a great price for a complete set up. The class 3 chip will have a few more column defects then a class 2 chip.

Wow, that has been a big help! I appreciate all the input so far and any more that follows.

I have the Orion Starshoot, a nice camera to find out if I like shooting DSO....well, I do! So naturally my mind starts to think of the next camera. I know that Atik is just about to introduce a new 16C camera in the next few weeks which will sell for about $700....the great thing is that our hobby just gets better and better!
