For the last little while I have been imaging the so called "Running Chicken Nebula". I haven't been able to see the chicken with any
confidence, but this is the best guess orientation that I could come
up with. Lots of clouds have have been interrupting the imaging so I
ended up with more data than I thought. Imagine that, more data,
rather than my usual "not enough"data!!

I like this one Thomas, the colors are nice and the resolution looks great.

That's a super image Tom. You are inspiring me to get a set of narrowbands. But if I do that I guess I will have to commit longer on a given object (not like me to do so, Hmmm....).

My take on the chicken is that you have it rotated 180 degrees. If you do the rotation you will see a chicken running with its head cut off. IC 2872 is his head falling off. My 2 cents worth.

Fabulous image.

If I had to guess - I'd say the 2 right hand blobs of nebula are the feet with the extensions back to the main body of nebula the legs. The blob at the bottom is the head with its extension back to the main body being the neck.

Simply my interpretation and I'd say the name of this nebula is a stretch by any imagination.

Another great image on this one Tom.
I do see the chicken but your illustration helped immensely!

More data is always better!
