M 97, The Owl Nebula

I normally wouldn't post this because 1) I was having guiding issues, 2) it obviously needs more exposure, 3) I've been experimenting with color combining techniques and I don't think I did justice to this image, but 5 december was the last decent imaging session for me and I've been starved for photons.

ST10 on a 12" reflector @ f/9
LRGB 60:40:40:60
seeing 1/5 (I'll take whatever I can get)

On the bright side (or should I say dark side), it's supposed to be clear tonight.

Dan, remember than any photo is better than NO photo...
Besides, you got a nice shot there, good detail on it, good color.... could it be better? sure, there's always room for improvement, but that's the FUN part of it, we can always go back and better our own shots! wink

For all your troubles you got a fine image, Dan. The last time I tried this object was in the last century and it wasn't this good.
