I am new to this forum and this is my first attempt at M31 with my 6"SN and 350D with an Orion SkyGlow filter(5x2min and 4x3min ISO1600 ImagesPlus PS). I am limited to 3min subs because I have no means of guiding at this time. This image was taken from Charlotte, NC in moderately heavy light polution. This combinitation of equipment seems to be unusual, which leads me to ask: why? Is there any better way to handle light polution (short of narrow band imaging) that might yield a better result? All comments are welcome and thanks in advance.

Nice shot Jim,especially considering the short exposure time .
I use the IDAS LPS and find that It does well in heavy light pollution for around 6 minute subs.

Jim,
That's a nice shot of a tought subject. I can't help with the filter as I don't use one, but I do have a question: what mount are you using that's giving you 3 minutes unguided?
Thanks, and welcome to the group. I look forward to lots more images!
