Hi there,

I had clear skies last night and a full moon so I needed an Ha target,NGC 7380 was my pick.I have seen so many great images of this, including Philip Goods Pic of the day.

Heres my attempt at it smile

Image is 18x600s through an Astrodon 6nm Ha filter.
ST10xme
Vixen VC200L at F6.4
1200gto,boy do I love this mount smile

I think I should have went deeper on this, some of the faint outer nebulosity was very weak in signal, best I could do was blur it up a bit to make it look better.

Thanks for looking,

Jason

Jason,

You did good with what you got! It looks 3D to me!

***I did 11 hours on this nebula last year with the same camera and filter that you have. I think that you got all of the nebulosity that was available to get. Any more exposure time would just get you a better S/N in the dim parts.

***You might want to try a version with a little less blurring. It looked a bit too smooth to these eyes on first glance.
It's okay to show some graininess in an image.
Other than that, it's a great image, Jason.
Congratulations on the mount, it's a fine one.
My regards,

Hi Jason,
This is a nice result. Congrats. As Dan mentioned, it would be interesting to see a version with a tad less blur.
