Rolando,

Great looking shot! How did you arrive at a 20 minute sub exposure duration? Could you have gone deeper (longer) with the sub and gained better s/n ratio? ...umm, don't get me wrong, GREAT shot! I am just considering new cameras and asking stupid questions smile

Hi Rolando,
Funny, but I also took this same image this month. The HA came out pretty well, but OIII and SII need much more to get good resolution. I took it with the ML8300 and the TEC 140. I only took 2.5 hours and need much more to smooth it out a bit. I did a little processing, but did not really intend to use it at this time. But I thought it might be neat to put up here because it looks so similar in frame.

What is interesting is that this object is usually called NBC 7822, but it is actually Cederblad 214 and NGC 7822 is a wavy band above this object. Not sure why it is marked this way often, but even The Sky 6 Pro makes this error. However, the Gemini will take you to NGC 7822 if you ask for that where the Sky will give you Cederblad 214.

But, it makes no difference really, it is commonly called this so I guess it will do. grin

Wonderful detail, great processing. Starting to get aperture fever.
