A favourite target of mine. Quite a spectacular sight in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also getting quite high in our skies here later at night so I will get better shots next trip.

Nexstar 11 GPS, 3x15 seconds, F6.3, Nikon D70, ISO 1600, Images Plus, Nikon Capture Editor.

NSW Australia at a dark sky site in Jan. Clouds moved in as I started to image this so I only got a couple of exposures.

Greg.

Oh me gosh! That is brilliant! This is one cluster that actually is pretty big to the naked eye.

Do you have one of the Crux-Jewel box region? It should be high in the sky after midnight now.

BEAUTIFUL!
My favorite Cluster!

Thank you for sharing Greg... and your image definitely pumps me up, as I just got a D70 and I'm looking forward to shooting DSO's with it!

Keep it up, and keep'em coming! wink

Thanks for giving us such great peaks at southern treasures. I especially liked the LMC image, and this one of Omega Centauri. Nice job.

All are great shots, Greg. It's nice to see those Southern sites way up here in New Jersey (and snow predicted once again!). You've really got that Nikon humming. The resolution on the cluster is amazing. Can't wait to try mine (oops, my wife's) one out soon.
Keep 'em coming,
Larry
