Hello guys,

my first child is proving to be extremely nice to us and sleeps at night! This allowed me to add some data to my e-line M16 project.

I attach a 100% crop of the central are of the image. It is a 4 hr h-alpha exposure (in 15 min subs) with my TEC180 and STL-11K (riding on my AP1200).

As I'm writing, the camera is collecting SII data grin

I'm not very experienced at processing DSO's images so please comments and tips are always welcome.

Ciao
Luca

That is very nice, as is the fact that the new child allows you to add data! wink

Excellent image Luca,

This makes you look like an old pro at processing wink

Hello Luca,

First of all, congrats on the little one! And second of all another congratulations on his letting you gather data (he knows your priorities wink )

Third, spectacular image! I like seeing full-res images grin

The contrast around the transitions from light to dark is spectacular and nicely done. The region around the Pillars is a little too bright, however. There might be some nice detail in there that could be washed out. Nothing that a tweak in Curves with just that bright region selected can't handle.

HTH,
Eric

Hello guys,

following Enrico's advice, I tried to increase contrast in the area of the Pillars.

Attached is a crop of that area: I've tried my best with curves but I'm afraid it isn't good enough: any suggestion?

Feel free to try, even though it won't be easy with a jpeg sad

A is BEFORE and B is AFTER the cure wink

Any idea on how to deliver the original RAW tif file to anyone who'd like to try to process the whole thing?
My website isn't ready yet and, anyhow, I cannot access it from home (I forgot the password :C ) so I can't post it there!

I'd be very very curious to see what I'll be able to do one day with my data wink

Hello everyone!

I found a way to hack into my website grin I posted the RAW TIFF file for anyone who would like to try to process my data. Alas the FIT file was way too large, but if necessary it could be arranged wink

So anyone who would like the file to give it a try, here' the link:

The website is still a work in progress, so there's nothing to see...for now: sorry!

Ciao all

Luca
