Best Toucam capture software?

Hello,

I just purchased a Toucam 840k, and was wondering what everyone recommended as far as image/avi capture is concerned?

MaximDL doesn't support AVI capture, does it?

Welcome! I would suggest K3CCD. It was basically written for webcams, especially the Toucam and is well known and used in the community. You can use it free for about 35 days, but the fee is not much (under $30 I think) and well worth it!

I know it is not as popular as K3CCDTools, but I always used QCFocus that you can download here http://www.astrosurf.org/astropc/qcam/programme.html.

It is a French software, but it is available in English as well. It is simple, FREE, and it supports the RAW format that is an absolute PLUS since you can easily modify your Toucam into a great tool that captures in RAW format with a great advantage in the quality of the images captured. But I suggest you try this modification when you have experienced the camera a little and you feel you want more from it (and you can have it )
