Take a look at the last couple images from 9/17. They all have the blue fringe or some hint of fringe around the north pole. Lei Jian, Yu Gu, and Vittal Badithe have it there images, all from around the 17th.

Anyone else capture this fringe?

The north polar hood has become prominent in the last few weeks. Yu Gu's spectacular shot from 9/17 shows it clearly. It extends to different latitudes depending on the CM facing you - currently its maximum southern extension is over the Acidalia Planitia - this image was taken 8/31.
