This is the best image I have taken so far with my MK91 since its arrival on Friday. I realized it's not the best image to be positng here. It was taken with a Atik 1HS II and a 2.5x Powermate in my light polluted back yard. I have processed and manipulated it to death with Registax, ImagesPlus and of course Photoshop. Is there another way of stacking images that perhaps would sharpen this up or do you think it's simply out of foucus and a atmospheric problem?

Hi James!

Cool shot!! Nicely captured, no features are blown out! Its hard to tell whether focus was the problem or just bad seeing (or maybe too much image scale is'nt the Mk a Mak?), one would have to see the video. Are there individual frames that are sharper? You might try hand picking your frames... 5-6 MAP points may help but if the focus was not spot on then probably not much. You know what though this pic is a hell of a lot better than my beginning efforts wink

Hi James,

A very impressive and dramatic image with the long shadows and so close to the lunar terminator, it's hard to say for sure but it looks like the focal length was to much for the seeing conditions, that is a very large image scale, focus could be a little soft too.
Keep after it James and you will get all the settings nailed down and then all you will need is that very elusive good seeing.

Thanks,

Wes Higgins
