Hi

Does any one know why these rings appear? My camera
is a digital SLR Fuji S1 FinePix Pro. These rings appear
only when i try to picture solar flares with a Lumicon 1.5A
prominence filter. These don't appear when sunspots are
captured.

Hi Vital -

I think the interference is between your H-Alpha filter and the IR filter in front of the chip in your digital camera. I see these on every image taken with my Nikon digital SLR and Coronado filter. I think the rings change with rotation of the camera body - but have not done any testing to confirm this. It is a HUGE hassle to process them out (You can still see it in the solar image I have in the gallery section which is my most successful attempt at removing them.) It is not a problem with the ToUcam as far as I can tell. It also does not seem to be a problem encountered by users of the Canon CMOS sensor based cameras.

good luck!
