Fixed Mars edge effect?

Hi all,

I've been annoyed by the aethetics of the damn edge effect, last time I was out imaging I knew I had some good data due to 7/10 seeing but try as I might I could not process the final stack without getting that damn exaggerated line at the sunlit edge of Mars. I tried just interations of unsharp mask, LC deconv, and of course the usual wavelets, but I always ended up with the same effect.
Usually I use Images Plus but for a change I tried the wavelets in Registax 3 instead, they seem to ramp up with their effect a lot faster than in IP so this time I ended up with he desired sharpening but very little edge effect! I never liked the wavelets in Reg very much cause the interface was clunky I thought, but for Mars it did the trick for me!
The edge is still there faintly but since I believe this is a real feature I think its probably about as prominent as it should be.

thanks

Mike

Mike,

Very, very nice!! Which wavelets are you adjusting? I have tried adjusting wavelets 5 and 6 to negative values with some level of success, especially on images shot in decent seeing.

Hi Mike,

Great job , that is probably the best edge I have seen so far

Thanks,

That is a very fine image with huge amounts of detail. Seems your processing is taking a step up as well.
