Just Got a Nikon D70 (for my old Nikkors)

...and am very pleased with my first shots using my existing, old Nikkor AI's (the Nikon D70, despite being super-duper digital, seems to work really well with these old lenses in manual mode). I shot some test shots, nothing special, with a 50mm/1.4, 135mm/2.0, 180mm/2.8 and 300mm/2.8 ED AI. Must admit, it was kind of fun playing around with the aperature, exposure time and focus to get the right shot. Next stop, the sky and moon. I don't think I'll be modifying my D70, but can't wait to do some astro work with it. Anyone else here have a D70 and how do you like it so far?

Best,

I've been using mine since i got it April 04. Its does a great job. I got it because i have Nikon lenses too and wanted a great terrestrial camera. I puts out a decent astrophoto with the proper processing. Im still learning the ropes on the processing end. Its a never ending quest for the perfect workflow and technique. Here are two of my best works so far with the D70.
