Neptune and Triton 9-20-08

This is a composite of two images of Neptune, one that was over exposed to capture Triton. It was shot with a Celestron 11" SCT and a Celestron Neximage web cam.

DSOs observed:
NGCs 2005, ICs 103, Other 70, Palomar GCs 6, Abell PNs 12, Herschel 400: 316.

It seems like you resolved the disk and color of Triton! Very neat. The color of your Neptune reminds me a lot of color I've seen in Uranus images. Here's a Uranus I shot last October:

Some Neptune's I've seen are a darker blue color like this one I shot last November

Both planets seem to have the same atmospheric make-up, just different temperatures.

I guess it's the camera's color/light sensitivities too? (I did it afocally using a Kodak Easyshare Z730 point-n-shoot camera and a somewhat smaller scope.)

I ran it through registax again and added some saturation.
