Newbie Mars Processing Help!

All,

I have enjoyed viewing all your Mars images these last couple of months, and have just started my own attempts at imaging.

My first attempts have been a little frustrating to say the least. Using a Nexstar8GPS and NexImage camera, I seem to have trouble collimating, focusing, and image processing.

I have attached what is probably my best attempt so far, recorded last night around 0300 CST. My main question is... Does anyone have link to a good, easy to follow, step by step guide to processing these types of avi files using Registax3? The online guide they have does a nice job of explaining the various options, but does not suggest parameter settings to develop the nicest planetary images. Thanks for any advice!

Holy cripes!

THIS is one of your first attempts...?

I'm not easily boggled, Bart. However, you have indeed dropped my jaw.

OUTSTANDING work!

Cheers, best wishes, and don't you dare stop imaging.

Hello Bart,

That is much better than my first attempt.

I don't know of a RegiStax tutorial. I learned by just reading the help file and trying all the options and seeing what worked the best.
