I was getting discouraged with the horrible seeing this year in South Florida (too many damned cold fronts)but tonight I got one imaging session before the Cirrus clouds rolled in. sad

One question: On the image there appears to be a division in the ring just outside of the crepe ring(the A ring?) that I have never seen before. Anyone seen it?

I am also amazed at the number of belts on the planets surface and their coloring (I made no adjustment in Registax for hue or saturation).

Jim,

An excellent image of Saturn. Much detail is recorded over the globe and rings. You have captured the pastel green collar very well. I look forward to your future images.

I also live in South Florida. Where are you located?

Hi Jim,
Excellent image! I too have noted a division between the C Ring (Crepe Ring) and the B Ring on some of my images. Keep up the Great work! We have all been having troubles with seeing. But, keep at it. Thanks for posting.

Great shot James!
Very nice detail all around your image... wink

I just noticed you are in the Fort Lauderdale area... I'm in Coconut Creek, about 15-20 mins from where you are... one of these days maybe we could get together and have a "small star party" 8)

Thanks for sharing, and keep it up!

Hi Jim,
I've been using a TouCam for about a year now on a laptop that's slower than yours. Have you the set the frame rate to 5 or 10 frames per second? If it's set higher (i.e. 30fps) the camera has to do onboard compression of the images in order to maintain the frame rate across the USB connection. That compression causes degradation of the image quality and also "dropped" frames.

Great shot Jim.

When you say F22, how did yo get that? Is that the 9mm of the ToUcam and a 2X barlow?

What settings did you use on your ToUcam? Gain 40%, Saturation? Gamma?

How did you porcess it K3CCD or Registax? Which do you find is better?

Best,

Greg.

FS152, Nexstar 11, ToUcam,

here is my first attempt at ToUcam imaging. FS152, TV 2X barlow,3900 frames K3CCD tpp;s planetary wizard for processing.
