I love old, abandoned buildings, from fallen down barns to ancient ruins. This place was an old homestead in southern Kentucky. The house was a very old (100+ years) log house "remodeled" to look modern with clapboard siding. Everything about it was homemade, with carved wooden door handles, and a hand-hewn sandstone chimney. I'd guess it was abandoned in the sixties or seventies, judging by the rusted appliances left in the place.

A homemade ladder found in the tobacco barn near the log house. I like the subtle colors of algae and lichens that have grown on the barn wood.
