Yellowstone Winter

Hi all:

My family spent a few days snow shoeing and cross country skiing up in Yellowstone the week after Christmas. Everywhere you look is a dramatic landscape! Here are a few of the pictures that turned out well. I highly recommend a winter excursion if you get the chance - the Park is extremely beautiful in snow.

This first picture is Grotto Geyser.

Excellent series, Jim. Like others who responded, Yellowstone in winter is on my bucket list as well. Thanks for posting.

By the way--maybe you can answer a question for me.

Do they keep the same schedule for Old Faithful, going off once an hour on like on its summer schedule, or is there a winter schedule?

I always figured they could cut back to where they only have it maybe only once every four hours or so.

Seems to me that's a way to keep government spending down, not wasting money on the display every hour when there are not so many tourists there......

Just wondering.
