Greetings from Central CA…

I took the long way home after a business meeting this week and lo and behold I ended up in Yosemite for a couple of hours. I'm still not sure how that happened. smile

For this trip, I decided to shoot only with my new 50-200 zoom on my Olympus E-1. In terms of a 35 mm frame, the field of view is equivalent to a 100-400 mm lens. Some of my shots are the common stuff you see, and others are a bit different.

This first series is about granite, starting with a faily standard shot of Half Dome from Curry Village using the short end of the zoom.

Here's the top of Half Dome from the same spot, zoomed out to 200 mm.

This next series is about waterfalls, but only two of the several I shot.
The frist three are vignettes of Yosemite Falls. Here is the top of Upper Yosemite Falls from nearest road, shot at 200 mm.

You're more than halfway through the shots I'm posting smile

This series deals with cliffs, more or less. Lots of airliners fly over Yosemite. Here's one viewed through a recess in the south wall of Yosemite Valley.

The last and shortest series deals with the Merced River. This shot was taken from a place called Swinging Bridge. However, the bridge doesn't swing and you're not allowed to swing from it…go figure. I took this looking toward, but below, the afternoon sun

Wonderful stuff Fred! 8)

I'm planning on visiting California, if not this year, next one for sure, and Yosemite is one of my MUST SEE places...

I definitely want to see also the Sequoia trees and visit the Grand Canyon while there... wink

Thanks all for your comments. And for those who still need to visit YNP, it's open all year (well, parts of it anyway).
