Equipment Question??

Has anyone out there used a 14mm rectilinear (non-fisheye) lens? I am thinking about getting one for landscape and other wide-angle work, and there are several options available.

Sigma makes a 14mm to fit the Nikon AF that costs $600-$700 depending on source.

Tamron makes one that costs about $1000.

Nikon's version is $1400+.

I don't mind paying for better quality, but I don't want to spend the extra $$ for nothing.

I would appreciate any experience or comments you may have to offer.

I haven't used one, but do use the wonderful Nikon 17-35mm lens....a little more verstatile, although pricey.
