OK, as the newly assigned moderator of this forum, I thought I would introduce myself more than just my photos I have posted over the last few years.
I have been a birder for most of my life, pretty "hard-core" since high school almost 20 years ago...in the last few years I have gotten into photographing birds and other wildlife. As for photography, I have been at that for a little more than 20 years as well, starting with a Pentax K1000, moving to Nikon, and then recently switching to Canon (the IS in the long glass for shooting birds was a deciding factor).
As for the Internet/Web, I have been a "user" since the very early 1990's, and have been involved in web development, etc. for almost a decade.
So, moderating...well, the goal is to lighten Herb's load. I will be pretty lenient here. Keep posts clean, and on topic and you will never see anything from me except my posts. Please work to keep posts constructive and helpful, rather than rude, etc.
One rule of my own: Please ask the original poster before editing their image and reposting. In general, it is considered good etiquette to ask permission first--after all, the photo belongs to the original poster. The exception would be when the poster puts something in the original message asking for people to edit and repost.
That's it--look forward to seeing more people here. Let's grow the forum!
