Anyone know where it is possible to buy substantial shipping boxes like the ones AP uses to double box their equipment for shipping? Thanks

Hi Kim
Look in the yellow pages under paper distributors. Most will sell shipping supplies including boxes, tape and bubble wrap or foam wrap. 275# double wall would be best for an outer carton large enough to hold an regular carton with maybe a layer of bubble around it. Be sure to use good tape and tape up all places where the seams come together, center AND side seams. Do not skimp on cheap tape and ship the fastest way you can afford. The less time the gorillas have their hand on it the less time they have to destroy it.
Hope this helps

If you're planning to ship your equipment frequently, you might want to pick up something like a scopeguard case for it.

A more generic term would be an ATA case.

These are designed so you can check equipment on airplanes as luggage.

But you'll pay several hundred dollars for one large enough to hold a medium sized refractor.
