Some images taken during almost full Moon

Since things are a bit slow here lately, I thought I would post a few images taken during some mount testing. This first one of M37 was taken with 3 x 5 minute unguided exposures at 1600mm focal length.

M37 is a nice colorful open cluster, which is nicely situated near the zenith at 8pm. It was taken under a rising Moon that pretty much obliterated all the nice galaxies in the spring sky.

The Moon was actually very pretty as it rose into the sky, so I thought I would snap a few images.
The seeing was quite bad, both for both M37 and the Moon, but since it was close to full, there really is not much detail to be seen anyhow. So this is my rendition of the Moon showing all the cool large scale detail and the tiny curlecues that are made by the shadowless crater walls.

This image is a single 0.1 sec exposure with STL11K and H-a filter at 1/3 resolution.

Rolando,

What optical train did you use to get 1600mm focal length? It does not compute! :C
