Using a reducer/corrector with my 9.25" SCT

I have heard that it is hard to reach focus when using Celestron's f/6.3 reducer with the 9.25" Celestron.. any thoughts? I am trying to get more field in the EP. Would like to view M-45 as a whole cluster rather than staring at the central star mass.. JM

The clear aperture of that corrector lens is around
2". If you are already using a 2" eyepiece, it
will not gain you very much. If you only have 1.25"
eyepieces, then it will help.

It will be hard to reach focus if you put too much
distance between the corrector lens and eyepiece.
I think it is more designed for use with cameras and
1.25" accessories.

I use the new Antares reducer. It is pretty much identical to the Celestron. I use a shorty 2" visual back and a shorty diagonal and it brings all my TV eyepieces to focus easily. It has about 41mm clear aperture and the vignetting with my 35mm Panoptic is only slightly noticeable as a fuzzy ring around the very last degree or so of the edge of field. I've measure via star drift the field at 1.4°. You can get 1.12° without a reducer using a 41 Pan or 55 plossl, so the extra field is worth it on a few large objects. All in all, I would agree with the others and spend my money on a good eyepiece with a 46mm field stop.
