I'd like to hear what you think about them. I have a pair of 20x80s that I think the world of for the price.

Alan, I received a pair of Astro 100's in August 03 for testing. The build quaility was great, but the astro's had a design flaw. The prisms were too small and the prisum casting would not allow the prisms to align properly for collimation. The prisms were designed for an F-6 light cone earlier in the design, but the final design was set for F-5 and the light cone was too large at the prism. The factory has done a redesign on the prism section (new castings) and Bill is supposed to receive the new version for acceptance testing very shortly. If they test out optically a production run should be ready after NEAF. I also was not greatly impressed with the eyepieces, just not as easy on the eyes as the fujinon f-series. As I understand it the Astros will sell for $995 and will include the magnesium tripod and mount head in the price. --Dan--
