Okay, let me start with...I have had this 201 for 2 years, bought on astro... and it didnt work, for sure. Sent it out and for hundred $$$.$$ had it fixed by meade.
Now, I know its hard to get to learn how to center guide stars and such. I did get it on a star and tracked well.. tried another one and it was too bright..read over 99 so went to options and reduced exposure time. never could get another track, went dimmer and and couldnt find the star. so went back to longer exposure. Back and forth for 3 hours. So, my first real try and had it track once, am I really just into the learning curve or have others gone out first night nad tracked fromthen on??
Brian anybody using this to track ?

I bought one four years ago. I consider it the mose useless piece of equipment that I have ever purchased. sad After getting through the learning curve. I ended up being frustrated when I tried to use it for autoguiding on long duration film exposures. It kept losing lock on the guide star. I tried using 90MM ETX and a 4 inch wide field refractor as guidesopes and in both cases it failed to perform.

I would not recommend the 201xt, better to save the money to get something better.
