Has any one ever had a run away dec and ra at the same time? This is on a 8" LX200. I have searched the MAPUG. Just checking to see if anyone here has heard of this problem.

thanks

Yes I have heard of this as one or the other but not both. However the fix has usually been one of the following:

1. Software in Autostar is corrupted........download the latest version, and do a RESET, calibrate motors, train motors, and calibrate sensors.

2. Bad autostar cable.

3. Low voltage.......low batteries, make sure the voltage is stable at 12 volts. New batteries......get AC power adapter, or 12volt battery power supply.

4. Broken autostar (get a new one)

5. Short inside the ra or dec circuits.....or bad board.
