Attaching Losmandy Dovetail to Mewlon 210 base ?

Hi group,

I'm new here. I am the proud owner of my first Takahashi scope - a Mewlon 210 which I purchased new last Fall. I've just made some mount changes and want to attach a Losmandy 4" dovetail to my Mewlon. Not sure of the best and most stable approach and thought some of you might have some tips. Was wondering if the Losmandy 7" DUP would mate to the two holes on the base of the Mewlon (currently there is a Tak vixen style dovetail attached to those holes)? Any suggestions appreciated. Looks like a good group here.

Hi Tony,
Congratulations on your M210! I own one nad have it mounted on a GM-8. I tried the 7" dovetail at first but the holes were off just a little and wouldn't line up with the holes on the Mewlon. I then used an ADM 11" dovetail that's slotted on both ends, so I would not have screw alignment issues. It works like a charm. Good luck and enjoy that Mewlon.

Tony,

I was in precisely the same predicament as yourself a number of months ago.

I picked up a SOCAL universal dovetail plate and which works like a charm. Please note that the screws on the existing Tak plate will not work and you will need something around 14mm in length with hexagonal heads.

Anthony.
