Sky90 on a Telepod...

Hi,

I am working out my mount for my new Sky90. I have a Lapides Teegul mount for viewing at home. I also picked up a TeleVue Telepod head for airline travel. My question is will I need an adaptor/plate or to do drilling to use my Tak clamshell on the telepod? I have not received the mount yet but if I need an additional plate, adaptor, or new rings I would like to plan for it...

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Jim's Mobile now has digital setting circles for the Lapides mount.

Hi Paul,

There is a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of the clamshell. You should be able to use it to bolt the Tak clamshell to the Telepod head with a 1/4-20 screw.

In case anyone has this same question...

I finally received my new(used) Telepod and the Tak clamshell will not sit directly on the mount. The clamshell is too wide. I think that the Pronto balance aid should do the trick.
