I set my Ranger up last night. After letting it cool down for an hour the fine focuser was stiff to the point of being useless. Has anyone solved this problem? Thanks in advance for any info.

Anthony, I would suggest regreasing with a grease that is not as susceptable to "hardening" in cold weather. I do not know specifically what to suggest, but I'm sure someone can advise you on this. I have a Ranger, but it's been awhile since I've had it out in cold weather, so I do not recall this problem. DR

Guys,

I've had this problem too. Scope was useless in the cold (20 degrees above 0 F. Stripped off the grease from the drawtube with rubbing alcohol and tried cold tempeture grease for snowmobiles. IT DIDN'T WORK! I will strip it off again and leave it off for now. I haven't tried it yet but will. Good luck. It really is a good scope but does seem to have this problem.
