Canon Introduces the EOS 60Da DSLR Camera For Astrophotography

Canon today introduced the EOS 60Da Digital SLR Camera, the long-awaited successor to the EOS 20Da, which is optimized for astrophotography. This DSLR caters to amateur astronomers who enjoy capturing the beauty of the night sky by offering a modified infrared filter and a low-noise sensor with heightened hydrogen-alpha sensitivity. These modifications allow the camera to capture magnificent images of "red hydrogen emission" nebulae and other cosmic phenomena.

$1500 US is what I've heard. It does come with an AC adapter.

I wonder if this camera, like the 60D, will have the ability to have its B function set electronically. The 60D cannot, so, if you want to go from M to B, you have to physically turn the wheel on the camera. I found out the hard way, and ended up with the 600D, which can be controlled remotely.

Other than this comment, it is nice to have a Da back again after so long. My 20Da was great.

Philip
