This was indeed a unique event, witnessing a supernova, as well as actually detecting a predicted surge of neutrinos during its occurrence. Now according to theory, will the rest of the predicted picture fall into place? The question is will we be around in the next 100 or 1000 years to witness a pulsar or black hole birth? Time in the universe is much like geological time, but on a much more vast scale. Theories abound; we may never know for sure. And then again, we may discover a new secret never predicted. That is the beauty of raw science. Keep up the good work all you astronomers and enthusiasts, and hope our government has the foresight to keep funding the Hubble and Chandra and other great science (for the sake of science) endeavors.
