Thanks Astromart for posting this story! As an avid amateur astronomer these past 5 years and a long time rabble rouser I would encourage all users of this site to contact their Congress person ASAP to support the continued and proper servicing of the Hubble telescope. I remain truly astounded by the work being done with this instrument and find it hard to beleive this administration would simply let it die while talking foolishly about extragavantly expensive manned Mars missions. The amateur community needs to speak out loud, long, clearly and continuously to knock some scientific sense into the politicians. If we don't do it, who will. Send your US representatives an email today or just get on the phone. Thank you.
