Hello,

I would like to purchase a new Diagonal for my Celestron 8" SCT. What would you recommend? This is to replace my original equipment 1.25 Diagonal.

StellarVue and TeleVue both make excellent 1 1/4" diagonals. I would give both of these a look! Mike Traub :^D

William Optics has a great 2" diagonal, and the newest version of it has cool looking carbon fiber sides, along with BOTH an SCT end, and a refractor end for the price of $168.

That would be what I would go with, and will go with once I get a C8, but that is only my humble opinion.

I've had good luck with the Vernonscope 2" Quartz diagonal.

The drawback is it's not a dielectric diagonal, so you need to send it back to them for cleaning.

I vote for the William Optics carbon fiber dielectric job. Don't know what the carbon fiber sides really do for you...but the dang thing sure looks sweet!
