You know it's a Bigdob when your secondary cover is a garbage can!More pics here-http://www.hanf-poos.de/stathis/atm/erhard_1meter_dob_itv2003.htm

I thought of a couple of punch lines about the garbage can secondary cover, but then I went to the URL listed and I now have nothing but respect for this guy. Even the thought that went into getting it into the trailer was brilliant and executed superbly. What an incredible setup!

Randy--too wimpy to get my 16" dob out last night for the triple transit and used my 3" refractor instead.

AMAZING!

Now, how do we fit it in a Yugo? Or the Yugo fits in it?

All that and the skies don't look like they're gonna cooperate. The boots aren't a good sign either.

Nice scope!

Nice use of common parts though! ;^)
That is about as big as Steve Swayze's 40" DOB, a little bigger perhaps.

Actually that's 42.125" !

wink

But after 40, who's counting? Oh, and by the way 350kg = 771 pounds. That is one hell of a sobering thought... I repeat: seven hundred and seventy one pounds. I'm shooting for 700 less than that on my current dob...
