Why are there so many of these scopes on the used market? All reports seem to point to excellent optics. Are people buying these for a mount? Will it work on a Vixen Portamount for lunar and planetary viewing? Thanks

I have also owned a few C6 ota's. My experience has been that this scope is great for a Vixen Porta mount or Astro-Tech Voyager mount.
But if a cg4 or cg5 will be used, there is nothing the C6 can
do that a C8 can't do better.

I'm guessing it is due to the mount. The Nexstar SE mounts are pretty decent and you can make it a cheap mount by selling the OTA off.
