Looking for Barlow Recommendations

I am looking for some recommendations as to purchasing a 2.5x or higher barlow. I am curently observing/imaging using a Meade ETX-125 EC which limits me to a 1.25" barrel. I already have a Meade 2x telenegative barlow, and while the optics in it might not be the greatest, it will suffice for now. I'm looking at purchasing a good quality 2.5x or 3x barlow that will give me better magnification than what I can get with the Meade while still leaving some clarity of detail and not leaving a smoking hole in my pocketbook.

In trying to keep the expense below $120, I've been looking at the Televue 3x barlow (Part #BLW-3125 on Anacortes) or the Scopetronix 3X (Part #BAR3).

1. Are there other products that I should be looking for?

2. Will my optics be able to handle this level of magnigfication?

3. Should I try to go with a higher magnification?

Thanks,
Aaron Tornow

Aaron,
Do it right from the start. Save a few extra bucks and purchase a TeleVue 2.5x PowerMate.
You will not be disappointed! It'll likely be an accessory you'll always have regardless of which scopes you may own in the future. Best of luck, Luis

Also, take a look at University Optics Klee barlow--2.8X, $80 new, used=?
