PST & C-80

Now i have twin solar scopes mounted together, my Polaris C-80 came with a Tube clamp for mounting a cam, i just screw on my PST on the clamp! I'm lucky that i have two Polaris mounts, as with the added weight of the PST,i had to steal the counter weight of off the other mount.

This setup works pretty darn well, i can view the sun in white light with the C-80 and H- alpha with the PST, the Polaris mount also handles the added weight pretty well!

Soon i will buy a Solarmax-60.

Hi Chas,
You'll like the 60mm setup. I have a MaxScope 60, and fabricated a bracket for my GM-8 so I can mount the Coronado and a Tele Vue TV85 (with white light filter) side-by-side. Nice to be able to switch between H-alpha and white light views of the sun... 8)

Charles,

I am looking at buying a PST, and was thinking of options for making it part of a complete, and portable solar observation system. My idea:

Mount the PST piggyback on a Meade ETX-125PE or EC, with the Meade equipped with a white-light solar filter. This would enable me to observe on both H2 Alpha, or white-light, on a driven GOTO mount, that is reasonably light and portable.

My question - can the PST piggyback on the ETX-125?
