On a recent trip to Home Depot, I happened to see a prominent display featuring a couple hundred of these new (?) Stanley LED light stands. I thought they might make a nice addition to my red light collection. The head tilts up or down, and the tripod would allow one to place the light about anywhere. Could be useful for chart reading, note taking, equipment trouble shooting, or breaking down while others are still observing. The 3-way switch lights up your choice of 1, 3, or all 6 LED's. A small allen wrench is required, to remove the top ring, which will allow a couple layers of red filter to be put in place. AA batteries fit inside the legs, and you can load up with 3, 6, or 9 depending on how many hours you want to have available, ranging from around 30 to over 300. The cost was about $20, I think. It seems like it's going to work out quite well. Have at it! grin

Hey Cool! grin How tall is it? How much area does it light, a page, a table top? I may have to go by and see what is up.
