TMB's Designs?

Are any of Thomas Back's designs still in production by anyone anywhere? All I know of are the Chinese eyepiece clones of the Planetary II, the Burgess Ultramono, the lenses from APM in Germany (made in Russia by LZOS), and the AstroTechs. Even then, the ATs are modified/"modernized" by another designer and so not a true TMB design. What's still out there? What am I missing? Any chance some of his designs might come back in the future?

many of the APM-LZOS Apo's are TMB designed and in production. But the TMB Business does not exist anymore , a reason why the product was renamed into APM-LZOS. Apm has anyway the owner ship on those TMB designs, since we paid TMB the design fees

Markus, thank you so much for continuing to make these wonderful lenses available! My next refractor is going to be the 130mm f/9 version you sell. I consider my TMB/LZOS in the classic CNC tube assembly to be one of the finest telescopes I have ever owned. It's definitely my most favorite and most used. The German-made CNC tube assembly is a work of art, everything is so beautifully designed and made. You really out-did yourself on these, they are truly extraordinary instruments in every way.

Do you still supply test reports with the LZOS lenses? Is there a waiting time to get these or do you carry some in stock?

Hi Kenzie

I had one of these from APM telescopes in the US many years ago. That business stopped, and so we now have to buy from Germany, or the UK. They are very good scopes, and I had mine for years with no problems.  I sold it a couple of years ago for a 17" from AG Optical here in the US. I never really enjoyed the AGO scope, so I sold that too.

I am going back to an APM 6" like I had. I ordered it on November 27th from Marcus at APM, and I am still waiting, with no idea as to when it will arrive. Their website says 2-4 weeks! But Markus does not give dates of arrival.
